I was planning on writing some stuff about my feelings about the horror genre (primarily movies) and this and that...but fuck it.

Bottom line is I've seen a lot of documentaries about horror movies, more specifically, American horror movies, and something that these documentaries almost always touch upon is the "social commentary" of horror in the 60's and 70's.

This link gives you a pretty well done (actually the best I've seen on the subject.) IFC movie about that era, and the most important (or at least with the most to say) writers/directors of that time.

An extremely recent find for me, but I was pretty floored by this album.

At first glance, I though the band name was pretty lame, thankfully the cover made me a bit more intrigued.

I went in pretty blind, being sold on the cover and album title, I didn't know what it would sound like.

I think it's kinda a more testosterone driven Steve Albini hanging out with Unsane.
